Physiological responses of mycorrhizal symbiosis to drought stress in white clover

چکیده

The aim of the present study was to analyze effects two arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), Funneliformis mosseae and Paraglomus occultum, on leaf water status, root morphology, sugar accumulation, abscisic acid (ABA) levels, malondialdehyde (MDA) content, antioxidant enzyme activities in white clover (Trifolium repens L.) exposed well-watered (WW) drought stress (DS) conditions. results showed that colonization by F. P. occultum significantly decreased 7-week soil treatment. Under conditions, fungal treatment considerably stimulated total length, surface area volume, as compared with non-mycorrhizal controls. In addition, inoculation also increased relative content accelerated accumulation glucose fructose under stress. Mycorrhizal plants registered higher superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), peroxidase (POD) ABA levels roots, while lower MDA contents, plants. As a result, mycorrhiza-inoculated represented better physiological (e.g. defense systems, accumulation) than non-inoculated response drought, whilst had superior mosseae.

Physiological and Morphological Responses of White Clover (Trifolium repens) and Red Clover (Trifolium pratense) Plants to Salinity Stress

Trifolium spp. are native plants in Iran exhibiting good ground cover po-tential. Salinity is a major environmental stress and today, 20% of the world cultivated areas and nearly half of all irrigated lands are affected by salinity. The main aim of this research was to study morphological and physiological adaptations of these native species under different salinity levels for urban landscape u...

Morpho-physiological responses in Alnus subcordata and Acer velutinum seedlings to drought stress

In this study, the effect of drought stress on morphological and physiological characteristics of two forest species: Alnus subcordata and Acer velutinum, which are used in natural forest restoration and afforestation, was evaluated. A factorial experiment was conducted based on a completely randomized design with two factors (two species and four levels of drought stress: (25% (severe stress),...
